“We are so important to some, but we are just passing through”

BeforeMidnight

“Like life, we appear, we disappear. We are so important to some, but we are just passing through.” – Before Midnight

No epic battles, no grand scheme, no spectacular actions or visual effects. Before Midnight has its own charm in so many different ways, from the picturesque scenery of a small Greek town, to the endearing and seemingly endless banter, and to the half-philosophical half-poetic discussion around lunch table. But the climax, the epic part, is the final confrontation, how the couple fight and reconnect. It attempts at answering the question what truly keeps a couple together. It transcends the ephemeral romantic love to something more enduring. In the end, there is grace, aged, honest, imperfect but true.
